Recreation Center Classes and Features
The Wheat Ridge Recreation Center offers a wide variety of drop-in aerobics classes for all abilities, ages 12 and up. The fitness area features free-weights, cardiovascular and resistance equipment. It also features a 1/10 mile indoor walking / running track.

Family Fitness Hours (Ages 8-11 with parent/guardian)
Bring the whole family to the Recreation Center to be active together. Children ages 8-11 will be allowed to use the fitness floor with parent/guardian supervision on Saturdays during Family Fitness Hours only. Children must attend a Weight Room Orientation with a parent/guardian (see details below) prior to accessing the fitness floor during Family Fitness hours. The Recreation Center, as always, reserves the right to ask any person not following policies and procedures to leave the fitness floor.
When:
  • Saturdays, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Weight Room Orientation (Ages 12 and up)
Learn how to use the weight and fitness area safely and effectively. Teens, ages 12-17, interested in utilizing the fitness floor must first obtain a Recreation Center ID card and attend this orientation. Upon completion of the orientation, staff will indicate permission to access the fitness floor on the teen's Recreation Center ID card. Parents are encouraged to attend with teens. While the orientation is required for children and teens ages 8 - 17, it is open to adults as well. This orientation does not take the place of a session with a Certified Personal Trainer, which is recommended for all fitness levels. You must wear athletic attire. Sign up and meet at the Fitness Desk.
When:
  • Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10:00 - 11:00 am
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 - 7:00 pm
